De heer Nguyen Huu Phuoc, voorzitter van de Associatie van Vietnamese bootvluchtelingen in Nederland hield toespraak. De jaarlijkse Vietnamese bootvluchtelingen dag waarbij bijna halfmiljoen mensen worden herdacht die omgekomen zijn bij hun vlucht uit Vietnam. Een herdenking met zowel katholieke als boeddhistische vertegenwoordigers. De herdenking vindt plaats bij het Vietnamese herdenkingsmonument bij de boeddhistische tempel Van Hanh Pagode in Almere.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, chairman of the Association of the Vietnamese boat people in the Netherlands gave a speech. The annual Vietnamese Boat Refugee Day commemorating nearly half a million people who died while fleeing Vietnam. A commemoration with both Catholic and Buddhist representatives. The commemoration will take place at the Vietnamese memorial monument at the Buddhist temple Van Hanh Pagode in Almere.
