Een vrachtschip op het Maximakanaal ligt aan de aanlegsteigers bij sluis Hintham
Het Maximakanaal ligt in Noord-Brabant ten oosten van ’s-Hertogenbosch. Het kanaal staat ook wel bekend als de omlegging van de Zuid-Willemsvaart en loopt van de Maas naar de Zuid-Willemsvaart bij Den Dungen. Met de komst van deze nieuwe vaarweg in 2015 kunnen grotere schepen van en naar Veghel varen. Ook de leefbaarheid in provinciehoofdstad ’s-Hertogenbosch is er hierdoor op vooruit gegaan. Grote schepen hoeven niet meer door de binnenstad te varen.
Het kanaal is 9 km lang. De aftakking begint bij Den Dungen en loopt via Rosmalen en natuurgebied De Koornwaard richting de Maas.

The Maxima Canal. Maxima Canal is in North Brabant east of 's-Hertogenbosch. The canal is also known as the diversion of the Zuid-Willemsvaart and runs from the Meuse to the Zuid-Willemsvaart in Den Dungen. With the advent of this new waterway in 2015, larger ships sail to and from Veghel. Also the quality of life in provincial capital 's-Hertogenbosch is improved. Large ships no longer have to go through the city. The channel is 9 km long. The branch begins at Den Dungen and runs through Rosmalen and nature reserve De Koornwaard towards the Meuse.
